I believe that music can be healing for both the artist and the listener. This album is therapy. Both for myself and the listener. For Catharsis, I sought out to write and release 5 days of musical journalling.

Each of these songs are titled according to the emotional state or the primary events or themes of the day. Day one, I woke up to my daughter having a seizure which shook me up quite a bit and I found myself unable to answer people who were asking if I was okay. It felt like I was melting down on the inside but had no idea how to release the pain and the tension of what I was feeling after my wife had taken our daughter to the hospital. This song was the release that I found. It's kind of like the soundtrack to a panic attack but one that's unto hope.

The other songs were written while I wrestled with anxiety, found some peace, worked through some relational weirdness and ultimately found a hopeful outlook again.

My hope for this album is to meet people who might be struggling with the trials of life right where they are and to usher them into a space where it's safe to feel and process through whatever they are going through.

Let me know if I hit the target. These songs are imperfect but accurate and represent the week I dedicated to writing them.
